Touch Quilt Project - Quilters Needed!
Posted by Heidi Cote (1 item)
We Need YOU!
We are looking for volunteers to make lap-sized Touch Quilts that provide sensory stimulation to people with late stage Alzheimer disease or a related dementia.
Sensory stimulation has proven to increase happiness, communication and relaxation, while reducing sadness and fear.
How To Get Involved
Our office will provide you with a Touch Quilt Kit containing 36, 6″ squares of assorted textured fabrics. Add batting and/or backing material based on what you have on hand. All you need to do is assemble the squares into a lap-sized quilt and embellish!
This project is a great way to pass time and help those in need.
If you’re not great at sewing, you can help out by donating supplies, batting and fabric, cutting squares and assembling Touch Quilts.
Contact us today to get involved!
